Ministry of Agriculture and Tunisian Solidarity Bank Sign Agreement to Support 2024/2025 Cereal Campaign
The Ministry of Agriculture and the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS) signed an agreement on Monday, September 30, to establish a specific program to support the 2024/2025 cereal campaign.
This program will enable small-scale cereal producers and agricultural mutual service companies (Smsa) to access seasonal loans to modernize their seed sorting and treatment equipment.
These loans will be granted without material guarantee requirements and under favorable conditions.
The program is part of two larger initiatives: the "Support for Inclusive and Sustainable Development of the Cereal Sector" project (Padific) and the "Emergency Support Program for Food Security in Tunisia" (Pausat), both supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB).
Farmers interested in obtaining a loan have until December 20, 2024, to submit their applications.
