Tunisian Date Exports Reach 100,100 Tons with a Value of 640.8 Million Dinars in the First Six Months of the 2024/2025 Campaign

Despite a 5% decrease in volume and a 6.6% decrease in value compared to the same period last year, Tunisia's date exports have maintained a certain level of stability, thanks to a slight increase in prices.

The average price per kilogram of exported dates stood at 6.40 dinars, a 1.7% increase compared to March 2024. This growth partially offsets the impact of the volume decrease on export revenues.

Morocco emerged as the top market for Tunisian dates in February 2025, absorbing 21.8% of the exported quantities. It is followed by Italy (10.4%) and France (7.7%), confirming the ongoing importance of European and Maghreb markets in Tunisia's export strategy.

In terms of organic production, exports of certified organic dates reached 4,393.9 tons with a value of 41 million dinars, at an average price of 9.33 dinars per kilogram. These products represent 4.4% of the total quantity and 6.4% of the total value of exported dates, confirming their high-end positioning.

Germany is the top destination for Tunisian organic dates, accounting for 31% of the exported volumes, followed by the Netherlands (12%) and France (11%). This orientation towards quality- and traceability-sensitive markets reinforces Tunisia's positioning as a bio producer on the international stage.
