Polish Ambassador to Tunisia Announces Rich Program for 2025 EU Presidency
Justyna Porazińska, the Polish Ambassador to Tunisia, has announced a rich program of events in Tunisia to mark Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union from January 1 to June 30, 2025.
Boosting Economic Cooperation and Tourism
During a meeting with Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti on the sidelines of the 55th World Economic Forum in Davos, discussions focused on promoting Tunisia as a tourist destination, as well as increasing the export of Tunisian olive oil to Poland, which is currently subject to limited quotas set by the EU. The two countries also reviewed their partnership in the textile and clothing sectors.
Understanding the Polish Market
Ambassador Porazińska emphasized the importance of understanding the Polish market and its export needs. She highlighted a 22% increase in trade volume between the two countries in the first 10 months of 2024, with expectations of further growth by the end of the year. She invited Tunisian business leaders to visit Poland and explore new opportunities with their Polish counterparts in various sectors, moving beyond traditional methods.
Tourism on the Rise
The Ambassador noted that the number of Polish tourists visiting Tunisia increased in 2024, with over 100,000 additional tourists, bringing the total to 320,000. She expects this number to rise further in 2025, thanks to promotional efforts by the Tunisian Embassy in Poland and the Tunisian National Tourist Office, provided that direct flights between the two countries are increased through the adoption of the Open Sky procedure or bilateral agreements.
