Program "Aftercare" Supports Foreign Companies in Tunisia

A conference was held on Wednesday in Tunis, on the sidelines of the Tunisia Investment Forum "TIF 2024", to discuss the "Aftercare" program, an initiative aimed at supporting and assisting foreign companies in Tunisia. The program, launched in 2019, strengthens the possibilities of expansion for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Tunisia. It is supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.

Focus on the Automotive Industry

The Director General of the Tunisian Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Investment (FIPA), Jalel Tebib, stated that a pilot experience of the program has targeted the automotive industry, a sector of interest to foreign companies in Tunisia. He specified that a first list of over 200 potential companies meeting the criteria has been established. He added that the Aftercare program will be generalized to other sectors, including the aeronautics industry.

Foreign Companies in Tunisia

According to FIPA figures, more than 3,862 foreign companies are established in the Tunisian market, representing a significant part of the national economic landscape. They total an investment of around 40,229 million dinars and generate over 450,000 direct jobs, many of which specialize in the automotive and aeronautics industries, the digital sector, agri-food industry, pharmaceutical industry, services, and other economic sectors.

Investment Operations in 2023

In 2023, 638 investment operations were created, with a value of over 1,916.3 million dinars. These operations are divided between 520 expansion projects and 118 new projects.
