BelCloud Ltd to Enter Tunisian Market in April
In an exclusive interview with Managers, Gabriel Caragea, Head of Growth and Customer Success at BelCloud Ltd, announced the company's imminent arrival in Tunisia. The international cloud computing and IT infrastructure specialist plans to launch its first operations in the country starting from April. The company, based in Sofia, Bulgaria, has an annual turnover of over 1 million euros, according to its growth manager.
Launching Operations in Tunisia
" I will come to Tunisia in April to start negotiations and launch the implementation," said Gabriel Caragea. However, he clarified that this will not involve creating a local legal entity at first. "We will not establish a commercial company in Tunisia yet. We will do so when we have formalized government support and several clients and strategic partners."
Tunisia as a Gateway to North Africa
According to the Head of Growth and Customer Success at BelCloud Ltd, the choice of Tunisia is based on a favorable environment. "We have received a lot of support, both from the private and public sectors," he explained. He also indicated that the company was invited by a Tunisian company operating in the cloud and digital services, which accelerated the decision-making process. Tunisia thus becomes the starting point for a broader regional strategy.
Regional Expansion Plans
"We will start with Tunisia, then expand to Morocco, probably during the summer," said Gabriel Caragea. The goal is to build a sustainable presence in North Africa before expanding further into the African continent. BelCloud is already active in several regions of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. "We are present in about 45 countries," he said. In North Africa, services are currently being deployed in Tunisia and Libya.
Target Sectors
The company will prioritize structures that need advanced technological infrastructure. "We focus on companies that need IT infrastructure," he said. Three sectors have been identified to start with:
- Technological infrastructure
- E-commerce
- Research and development
"We start with research and development companies as well as e-commerce," he said.
Company Overview
Founded in 2019, BelCloud offers cloud computing services (VPS), dedicated servers (Bare Metal), and S3-compatible cloud storage. The company claims to have over 16,000 international clients, ranging from startups to large enterprises. One of the pillars of its model is personalized human support. "We prioritize human interaction," emphasized Gabriel Caragea. He added that the company does not use automated models, chatbots, or artificial intelligence for support.
Partnership-Based Model
BelCloud's strategy is based on building long-term relationships. "We seek long-term partnerships with our clients and partners, not just profit," he said. He added that the company develops customized solutions and remains flexible on commercial terms to adapt to the specific needs of local partners.
Institutional Support and Energy Ambitions
Meetings with government officials are scheduled for April. According to Caragea, discussions are underway on potential tax incentives, financial support, and connections with major economic players, including the Utica. Additionally, BelCloud is studying a project to invest in a solar farm in the south of the country to support its energy infrastructure. The project is still under study and has not been finalized.
Positioning Tunisia on the Global IT Map
Beyond commercial implantation, the company has a broader strategic ambition. "We hope to contribute to the development of the Tunisian technological sector, create well-paid jobs, and position Tunisia on the global map of IT services and infrastructure," concluded Gabriel Caragea. If the announced schedule is respected, the arrival of BelCloud could strengthen Tunisia's attractiveness in the field of cloud computing and support the development of a competitive digital ecosystem at the regional level.
