Plenary Session to Examine Bill on Healthcare Rights and Medical Liability

A plenary session is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP). The objective is to examine an organic law project related to the rights of healthcare service beneficiaries and medical liability. This project consists of 6 chapters and a total of 55 articles.

Protecting Healthcare Rights and Preventing Risks

The bill aims to protect the rights of healthcare service beneficiaries in general. It also focuses on mechanisms for preventing risks and damages related to treatments, as well as the liability regime for healthcare professionals exercising their activities legally, and that of public and private healthcare structures and establishments when providing healthcare services.

Establishing Patient Rights and Quality Mechanisms

The bill establishes the rights of patients in healthcare establishments, as well as mechanisms for quality, safety, and prevention of risks and damages related to healthcare services and the medical liability regime for healthcare professionals and healthcare establishments.

Applicability of the Law

The provisions introduced by this law apply to healthcare professionals, healthcare establishments, diagnostic, treatment, research, and experimentation centers that provide healthcare services in both public and private sectors, as well as to pharmaceutical manufacturing laboratories and manufacturers and suppliers of medical devices and equipment.
