Etihad Airways to Launch New Routes in 2025, Including Tunis

The Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad Airways has announced its intention to launch new routes in 2025, with Tunis featuring among the new destinations. This is great news for us, increasing Tunisia's global connectivity to a key Middle Eastern country. Moreover, it will improve the availability and quality of indirect connections to reach new cities.

For the tourism sector, this is a new window of opportunity. The same applies to the Tunisian diaspora in the United Arab Emirates or elsewhere, who will now be able to reach their homeland more easily.

The list also includes a first direct non-stop flight to Atlanta starting from July 2025, marking a major expansion of its American network. Etihad Airways will thus become the only UAE carrier to offer this connectivity, currently served by Qatar Airways. Other destinations on the list include Tbilisi, Hong Kong, Algiers, Chiang Mai, Hanoi, Krabi, Phnom Penh, Taipei, and Medan.

By October 2024, Etihad's passenger numbers over 12 consecutive months will reach nearly 18 million, representing an increase of almost 80% over two years. This is a new major airline adding to those serving Tunisia. The expansion works at Tunis-Carthage Airport are now urgent if we want to preserve and monetize these routes.
