2024 ESENet Job Fair: A Pivotal Edition for Tunisia's Digital Transformation

The 2024 edition of the ESENet Job Fair took place on November 27 at the Higher School of Digital Economy (ESEN). Organized annually since 2019, this event dedicated to connecting students with internship and recruitment opportunities stood out this year. Under the theme "ESENet Job Fair - Odyssey Business 4.0," the event highlighted the digital evolution of professions and the role of startups in transforming Tunisia's economy.

The term "odyssey" chosen by the organizers refers to a journey into the universe of tomorrow's business, in the digital era. As emphasized by Jihène El Ouakdi, Director of ESEN, this edition marked a turning point by inviting students, companies, and startups to collaborate on a central issue: digital transformation in Tunisia. A particularly relevant topic in a context where digital innovation is increasingly at the heart of economic strategies.

One of the major innovations of this edition was the strong presence of startups. These young companies had the opportunity to meet with students and recruiters to discuss current and future challenges in the digital job market. The startups shared their experiences, challenges, and the skills they seek in young graduates, contributing to enriching discussions on how the private sector can stimulate innovation in Tunisia.

Unlike previous editions, where a traditional opening speech was given, this year, an opening panel was organized. The Minister of Communication Technologies, Sofiene Hemissi, participated in this panel, offering a government perspective on the role of digital transformation in Tunisia's economic development. This interaction between the public, academic, and private sectors reinforced the message of necessary collaboration to succeed in this digital transition.

Another key moment of the day was the panel on the vision of companies in the cultural, creative, media, and technology sectors. Among the companies present, Poulina Group Holding shared its experience and key success factors in integrating digital into its processes. This panel highlighted the expectations of companies facing the growing demand for digital skills and reflected on the actions to be taken to strengthen links between universities and the business world.

The ESENet Job Fair was a true hub of ideas and collaboration, where the aspirations of students, future actors of digital transformation, the expectations of the socioeconomic environment, and the collective interest in a prosperous digital future converged. This edition succeeded in laying the foundations for the necessary synergy between universities, companies, and the state to build a future where digital transformation would be a major driver of Tunisia's economic development.
