Enactus Tunisia: Empowering Young Entrepreneurs to Drive Social, Economic, and Environmental Change

Every year, the Enactus Tunisia national competition provides a platform for young Tunisians to showcase their entrepreneurial spirit and talent, presenting projects that address social, economic, and environmental issues.

The 15th edition of Enactus Tunisia took place on June 26-27, 2024, at the Laico Tunis hotel, organized in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, the European Union, the International Labour Organization, JEUN'ESS, Innov'i - EU4Innovation, Expertise France, and Tunisie Telecom.

The second day of the event was particularly packed, with entrepreneurs such as Hasna Kourda, co-founder of Save Your Wardrobe, participating via video call. Kourda won the Grand Prix of the 7th edition of the LVMH Innovation Award in 2023. Selima Zaouali, CEO of Aseptika, was also present.

The winning Enactus group was Enactus TBS, with their project titled Bovita. Bovita aims to gradually heal infected cow zones by reducing inflammation symptoms and eliminating bacteria. The project offers natural products with designed production treatments, free from antibiotics and chemicals.

The inspiration behind this project stems from the dire situation faced by Tunisian farmers, who heavily rely on the well-being of their cows. However, they have been confronted with a worrying decline in cow health, mainly due to bovine mastitis. This disease, caused by unsanitary conditions, leads to abnormal and reduced milk production, as well as high costs for antibiotic treatments.

The team's idea is the result of hard work, prospecting, and rigorous research throughout the year. Their objective was to offer a natural and more economical solution to treat and prevent mastitis, improving cow health, reducing costs for farmers, and ultimately supporting Tunisia's struggling agriculture sector.

The product consists of a cream and a gel, with the gel packaged and sold in 1-liter bottles for 25 dinars each, making it 45% cheaper than imported alternatives.

The two other projects that made it to the semi-finals were Canz" from Enactus Gafsa University and Nopaleer" from Enactus ISET Zaghouan.

The winning TBS team will present their club through the Bovita project at the Enactus World Cup in Kazakhstan in October 2024.
