Egyptian Expats' Remittances Double, Reaching $2.7 Billion in September
Egyptian expats' remittances have seen a significant surge, with a 107.6% increase in September compared to the same period last year.
According to the Central Bank of Egypt, remittances reached $2.7 billion in September, up from $1.3 billion during the same period last year.
In the first quarter of the 2023-2024 fiscal year (July-September), remittances jumped by 84.4%, totaling $8.3 billion, compared to $4.5 billion the previous year.
Over the first nine months of the year, remittances have increased by 42.6%, totaling $20.8 billion, compared to $14.6 billion during the same period in 2023.
