The concept of solar energy is well-known in Tunisia, with photovoltaic panels sprouting up over the years and electric vehicles becoming increasingly common in the local energy landscape and daily life of Tunisians. However, battery storage, also known as Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), remains a largely unknown concept to the general public, despite being a crucial component of the country's energy transition.
A New Segment, the Missing Piece of Tunisia's Energy Transition
A brief examination of Tunisia's energy infrastructure reveals that this new segment could play a major role in the country's energy transition. With power outages affecting 78% of households and the government's ambition to reach 35% of renewable energy by 2030, Tunisia has a significant interest in adopting battery storage technology, which allows for the storage of excess solar energy produced during the day for use when the grid needs it.
EFT Group: A Pioneer in Battery Storage
EFT Group, which stands for Energy for Tomorrow, is a relatively young company that has established itself as a pioneer in battery storage and a range of related services, employment, and innovation. - Collective Energy, distributor and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of BESS in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, also created in 2020
- EFT Energy Solutions, entity dedicated to complete BESS solutions for commercial, industrial, and utility sectors since 2023

Solid Experience
The company's track record speaks for itself, with over 1.5 million Home ESS and small C&I systems deployed, over 200 C&I projects completed, over 2.5 GWh of BESS put into service, and over 200 complex EMS systems delivered.
