Economic Projects and Decrees Adopted by the Tunisian Government
During a council of ministers chaired by Head of Government Ahmed Hachani at La Kasbah, several economic projects and decrees were adopted on Monday.
According to a statement released by the Government Presidency, the following economic projects and decrees were approved:
Bills:
- An organic law bill on the adoption of the Africa50 Fund's statute for "project development".
- An organic law bill on the adoption of the Africa50 Fund's statute for "project investment".
- Note that Article 75 of the Tunisian Republic's Constitution requires treaty approvals to be in the form of organic laws. In April 2014, the African Development Bank's (AfDB) Board of Directors approved the creation of the "Africa50" investment fund to find financing solutions for mega-projects and public initiatives.
- A bill for the adoption of a loan agreement between the Tunisian Republic and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to finance the Urgent Response to Food Security Project in Tunisia (PRUSA) in Tunis.
- A bill for the approval of a financing contract between the Tunisian Republic and the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a loan to support small and medium-sized enterprises as part of the economic recovery.
Decrees:
- A decree modifying the organization of the General Directorate of Customs.
- A decree establishing the criteria for appointment and revocation in regional land transport companies.
- An amended decree concerning the criteria for appointment and revocation within the Tunisian National Real Estate Company (SNIT).
