Tunisia Ranks Among Top 6 Countries in Africa for Online Administration

According to the "E-Government Survey 2024: Accelerating Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development" report published by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), Tunisia has been ranked among the top 6 countries in Africa for online administration, with a score of at least 0.5 out of 1, highlighting its leadership in implementing e-government.

South Africa maintains its first position on the continent and in Southern Africa, benefiting from a very high development index. Mauritius remains the leader in East Africa, while Tunisia occupies the 3rd place. Morocco follows in 4th position, improving its ranking compared to 2022.

Seychelles and Egypt complete the top 6 ranking. Ghana remains the top country in West Africa, ranking 7th continentally, while Gabon, the leader in Central Africa, has dropped to 15th place after occupying the 11th place in 2022.

These countries stand out with a development index higher than the African average in terms of telecommunications infrastructure, human capital, and online services, approaching the global average of 0.6382.

The progress made by these leaders in e-government highlights the importance of investing in digital infrastructure and improving online services. This ranking could encourage other African nations to accelerate their digital transformation, promoting more effective and inclusive governance and contributing to the continent's economic growth and sustainable development.
