Tunisian Startups Ranked Among Top 10 in the Middle East
Rached Chelli, a member of the executive board of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade, and Handicrafts (UTICA), revealed that the latest Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) has ranked Tunisian startups among the top 10 in the Middle East.
During a workshop dedicated to entrepreneurship, organized in collaboration with UTICA and the Arab Organization for Administrative Development (OADA), a branch of the Arab League, Chelli specified that this ranking is based on the ability to mobilize funds during the startup phase and creation, particularly in terms of research and patent acquisition.
He also highlighted that in Tunisia, since the launch of the startup program, the total number of labels awarded has reached 1018, marking a significant progress.
Chelli emphasized that entrepreneurship is a central lever for economic development, stimulating production, and encouraging innovation. This process, according to him, has been adopted by Tunisia to mitigate the youth unemployment crisis and generate added value through targeted support and facilitated access to financing.
Finally, he added that UTICA is committed to strengthening its partnerships with relevant ministries, financial institutions, and support structures to promote private initiatives and enable young talents to refine their skills and bring their projects to life.
