Russia Considers Visa-Free Travel for Certain African Countries

Russia is considering abolishing visa requirements for certain African countries, according to projects currently under development, announced Alexei Klimov, head of the consular department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also specified that these agreements provide for visa-free stays for a maximum duration of 90 days. However, no implementation date has been set, as discussions with different partners are at various stages.

Klimov assured that information would be communicated as soon as bilateral agreements are concluded.

In the past, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had already mentioned talks aimed at simplifying visa regimes with several African states, including Zimbabwe.

It is worth noting that Russian citizens already benefit from visa exemptions in countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Malawi, Sao Tome and Principe, Tunisia, and Morocco.
