Indian Delegation Visits Tunisia to Strengthen Economic Ties
A multi-sector Indian delegation, led by Shabina Sultana, Honorary Consul of Tunisia in India and businesswoman, was received on Tuesday, November 17, by Jalel Tebib, Director General of FIPA-Tunisia, in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This meeting marks a new boost in economic relations between Tunisia and India.
Presentation of Investment Opportunities
Tebib presented the investment climate in Tunisia as well as existing opportunities in key sectors. A question-and-answer session followed, allowing delegation members to better understand the legal and regulatory frameworks related to investment.
Existing Investments and Future Prospects
The Director General of FIPA-Tunisia recalled that three Indian companies have already invested in Tunisia, generating over 222 million Tunisian dinars in foreign direct investment (FDI) and creating 968 jobs. Tebib emphasized the need to develop concrete action plans to intensify these investments, through prospecting visits and the organization of joint economic forums, in order to open up new profitable economic perspectives for both countries.
Commitment to Promoting Economic Ties
Shabina Sultana expressed her willingness to actively promote Tunisia to Indian investors and announced that new prospecting visits will be scheduled soon to strengthen economic partnerships. This meeting illustrates the growing interest of Indian entrepreneurs in the Tunisian market and the potential for cooperation between Tunis and New Delhi.
