Alkimia Closes a Difficult Year 2025
Alkimia has completed a challenging year 2025, with fourth-quarter indicators confirming a forced restructuring due to global competition. The company must now rethink its model to remain competitive.
Production Decline
Production has fallen by 21% to reach 22,891 tonnes, divided between 14,220 tonnes of STPP and 8,671 tonnes of crystallized MAP. This decline highlights the urgency of successfully implementing its strategic transformation.
A Global Market Under Pressure
This slowdown is not coincidental. Alkimia is facing a loss of competitiveness against global giants with integrated structures. As a direct consequence of this sales decline, the company's annual revenue stands at 100 million dinars, marking a 6.70% decrease.
A Complex Financial Situation
The financial situation remains complex. Management does not hide its concerns about an increasingly limited treasury. This lack of financial flexibility is due to:
- The slow operation of production units
- Erosion of revenue
- The weight of fixed costs related to underactivity
On the liability side, debt is increasing, with short-term debt of 8.06 million TND, complemented by medium- and long-term debt of 10.27 million TND.
The Relaunch Bet
However, Alkimia refuses to remain stagnant. The company is betting heavily on its future project to produce 80,000 tonnes of NPK (in powder and granular form). This strategic project is now entering its final phase.
To support this ambition, a capital increase of 20 million dinars has been launched, with part of it already released, demonstrating a willingness to transform this difficult period into a growth lever.
Asset Disposal
In parallel with these results, the group has initiated a major strategic maneuver concerning its "ALKIMIA-Packaging" subsidiary. The Board of Directors has decided to launch a national and international consultation for the sale of its glass microbead manufacturing unit located in Gabès.
This sale is intended for a strategic or financial investor and is expected to enable the company to focus on its core business, namely the packaging of chemical products.
