Enfidha Port Project Progresses, Essential Preliminary Phases Underway

The advancement of the Enfidha port project has been confirmed, with crucial preliminary phases preceding the effective start of construction. Considered a vital infrastructure investment for Tunisia, this deep-water port and its associated logistics platform are set to revolutionize the maritime transport sector.

Recent Developments

In March, the Ministry of Transport reviewed the necessary measures to accelerate the project while ensuring strict adherence to international standards for safety, quality, and environmental protection.

Budget Allocation

The 2026 finance law project allocates expenses of 24,200 million Tunisian dinars (Mtnd) to:

  • Complete the necessary land acquisitions for the logistics zone
  • Update market studies, technical, economic, and financial studies, and prepare the tender dossier for the construction of the multipurpose quay under a performance contract
  • Launch the support mission for developing the master plan for the logistics services area

Strategic Objectives

The strategic goal of this modern port is to establish Tunisia as a regional hub and privileged access point to the African market. It will serve as a key driver for economic competitiveness, complementing existing ports. The port complex to be developed covers an area of 3000 hectares, encompassing the port with its components (1000 hectares) to be built in two phases, and the economic and logistics zone (2000 hectares).
