Digital Energy Challenge: Call for Projects
Launched in 2021, the Digital Energy Challenge is a call for projects targeting initiatives in Africa, addressed to startups in the pre-seed or early-stage phase, as well as public energy operators partnered with innovative technology providers. The objective is to support the development of innovative solutions to improve access to energy, integrate renewable energies, and optimize the performance of energy operators.
Eligibility Criteria
Projects must be based on digital technology and have a local anchor, with funding of up to €150,000 for startups and €500,000 for energy operators.
Awards and Funding
Each year, the Challenge will reward:
- 2 to 3 partnership projects between energy operators and innovative technology providers
- 5 to 8 projects led by startups
With an annual budget of €1.8 million for funding, technical assistance, and strategic support.
Deadline for Applications
The deadline for submitting applications is May 15, 2024.
