La Goulette Port Sees Tourist Arrivals Surge by 21.5% in 2026

The port of La Goulette welcomed nearly 243,000 tourists by the end of September 2026, a significant increase from the 200,000 visitors recorded during the same period last year. This represents a growth of approximately 21.5%, according to the Tunisian Press Agency (TAP).

Building on this momentum, the Office of Merchant Marine and Ports (OMMP) projects that the port will receive close to 355,000 tourists over the course of the year. This would mark a 31.5% increase compared to the 270,000 visitors recorded in 2025.

This positive trend was highlighted on Thursday, October 8, with the arrival of over 10,000 tourists from various nationalities aboard two cruise ships departing from Barcelona, Spain. The port call encouraged many visitors to explore the capital’s archaeological sites, tourist attractions, and artisanal shops.

Figures released by the OMMP on Friday confirm a steady rise in cruise traffic at La Goulette. However, final year-end projections remain contingent on the evolution of port calls and the number of passengers welcomed in the coming months.
