Carthage Innov'Startup4.0: Fostering Entrepreneurial Spirit among Students
As part of the Quality Practice Jawda Project (PAQ-DGSU) funded by the World Bank, the University of Carthage, a premium member of the "Global Alliance of Entrepreneurial Universities – NCEE", is launching the fourth edition of the "Carthage Innov'Startup4.0" competition starting from October 2024. This competition, supported by the Carthage-PEEC Student Entrepreneurship Hub, created in January 2019 as part of the Erasmus+ SALEEM project, brings together over 120 student entrepreneurs who have obtained the national student entrepreneur status (SNEE) and have an innovative project idea.
Selection Process
The student entrepreneurs were selected between November 2023 and April 2024 by juries composed of university professors and experts from the Tunisian entrepreneurial ecosystem. The selection process aimed to provide participants with the opportunity to follow the PEEC's support program and participate in the "Carthage Innov'Startup4.0" competition, funded by a quality and employability support fund.
Bootcamp and Program
The competition kicks off with a bootcamp from October 28 to November 1, 2024, at the Tunis Science City, gathering student entrepreneurs, their academic supervisors, and experts and professionals in entrepreneurship. A rich program has been designed over five days, featuring conferences and discussion panels on innovation, sustainable entrepreneurship, startup ecosystems, and business, as well as workshops on lean startup, value proposition, Go-To-Market Strategy, MVP, business plan, fundraising, financial modeling, AI for entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial leadership, and pitching.
Pitching and Final Selection
Today, candidates presented their project pitches in the semi-final round, before juries composed of academics and active players in the Tunisian entrepreneurial ecosystem. The top 10 projects will be selected and will be accompanied by their academic supervisors and professional mentors to prepare for the final round, scheduled for November 9, 2024, at the Tunis Science City. The winners will receive prizes offered by the University of Carthage and its partner sponsors.
Fostering Entrepreneurial Spirit
The "Carthage Innov'Startup" competition, in its fourth edition, aims to cultivate the audacity and entrepreneurial spirit of students, contributing to the creation and development of innovative enterprises with remarkable potential for our society and economy. It offers the opportunity to support this future generation of entrepreneurs in propelling their innovative ideas, concretizing their business projects, and contributing to their sustainability. The organization of such an event would not be possible without the strong and confirmed mobilization of a Taskforce team composed of PEEC reference teachers and University of Carthage administrative staff.
