The Future of Education: Preparing Young People for a Sustainable Tomorrow
The central question of the eponymous event organized today by the Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation at the Tunisia Foundation for Development was: How can we prepare young people for a sustainable future?
The event brought together experts and leaders from the sector around three essential themes: combating youth unemployment through education, the importance of reinforcing digital and green skills, and the crucial role of philanthropies and intersectoral collaborations in education and skills development.
During a panel titled "Green Skills and the Path to a Sustainable Future," Danah Dajani, Senior Vice President of the Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, highlighted three major challenges in preparing young people for a sustainable future.
She addressed the limitations of traditional learning, the lack of career guidance for young people, and the significant mismatch between skills and the evolving needs of the market.
Furthermore, she shared initiatives from her foundation, such as green skills education programs and renewable energy training for vulnerable youth, in collaboration with private and university partners.
Also present was Yahya Bouhlel, co-founder and CEO of Go My Code. During the panel "AI and Entrepreneurship: Empowering Startups in the Digital Era," he emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence in making education more accessible. He described how AI can reduce training costs by assisting teachers and automating tasks such as project correction, facilitating the training of a large number of students while maintaining the quality of education.
Bouhlel also mentioned future developments where every technical profession could benefit from specialized AI tools, contributing to a highly performing and assisted workforce.
During the same panel, Houda Ghozzi, founder and CEO of Open Startup, highlighted the impact of AI in three key sectors: healthcare, agriculture, and education. She stressed the importance of entrepreneurs' adaptability to succeed in this field, affirming that AI innovation mainly comes from individual and agile entrepreneurs' initiatives.
