CMR Tunisie Expands Production Unit in Mghira, Tunisia

A 3 Million Dinar Investment to Boost Electrical and Electronic Exports

The French company CMR Tunisie has inaugurated the extension of its production unit in Mghira, Ben Arous Governorate, under the supervision of the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub. This project, which required an investment of 3 million dinars, spans 11,000 m² and integrates advanced technology-based production lines for the manufacture of wiring and sensors for internal combustion engines used in the marine, construction, and power generation sectors.

The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Ben Arous, Abdelhamid Boukadida, and the French Ambassador to Tunisia, Anne Guéguen. In her speech, the Minister highlighted that this expansion will contribute to strengthening Tunisian exports in the electrical and electronic industries, paving the way for new partnerships with major global companies. She recalled that the project is part of the national strategy to double sector exports to reach $7 billion by 2030, while integrating Tunisia into global value chains.

About CMR Tunisie

CMR Tunisie, established in 2001, also has a production site in Hergla, Sousse Governorate, which already generates around 100 jobs. The company achieved a turnover of approximately 16 million dinars in 2024, employing 600 people, including 63 engineers and senior technicians. With this expansion, the total number of jobs is expected to exceed 600 by 2026.

The CMR Group

The CMR group, which has four production sites worldwide, is now owned by the American company Amphenol Corporation, an industrial giant present in over 240 sites and employing 130,000 people. Its clients include internationally renowned companies such as Cummins, Waukesha, and Wabtec, active in Europe, Asia, and America.
