University of Tunis El Manar Achieves Outstanding Results in QS 2026 Rankings by Specialty

The University of Tunis El Manar has confirmed its position as the top Tunisian university in various disciplines, according to a statement from the university. For the first time, fields such as accounting, electrical engineering, and agriculture have entered the international rankings by specialty.

14 Disciplines, One Message

The results of the QS 2026 rankings by specialty have been released, and the University of Tunis El Manar has achieved one of its best performances to date. Fourteen of its disciplines are now among the best in the world, a figure that puts the institution far ahead of its Tunisian counterparts in each of these fields.

Petroleum Engineering Remains at the Top

The best-ranked specialty remains petroleum engineering and petrochemistry, recognized among the top 150 global programs in this field. This performance is not new, but it is confirmed again this year, consolidating the university's reputation in engineering sciences.

Notable Progress in Medicine and Computer Science

Medicine and computer science have also made significant progress, indicating that the university is not focusing on a single field. Chemistry, economics, mathematics, physics, astronomy, and management complete the list of disciplines already present in previous editions.

New Entries that Expand the Spectrum

Perhaps the biggest novelty of this edition is the entry of four new disciplines into the global rankings for the first time: accounting and finance, mechatronics engineering, materials science, and agriculture. These fields have very different profiles, which says something about the academic diversity of the institution and its ability to progress on multiple fronts at the same time.

A Collective Result

The university attributes these results to the work of its entire community (teachers, researchers, students, and institutional partners). Beyond the rankings, it's the trajectory that matters: that of a Tunisian public institution that is gradually establishing itself as a recognized reference at the international academic level.
