A New Era for the CJD: Passing the Torch with a Shared Vision
The members of the CJD (Confédération des Jeunes Dirigeants) gathered for their ordinary general assembly on June 19th in Gammarth, marking a significant milestone in the organization's history. The event saw the passing of the torch from one presidency to another, with both leaders embracing the same slogan: "Osons être dirigeant-e-s autrement" ("Let's be leaders in a different way"). This mindset reflects the CJD's commitment to innovation, progress, and responsible leadership.
A New President with a Clear Vision
Imed Karoui, the outgoing president, presented the moral report, deviating from the traditional formalism of such events. He highlighted the achievements of each regional representation, commenting on initiatives, and rallying around ideas. Karoui emphasized the importance of networking, training, and conviviality, congratulating those who have made significant contributions and encouraging others to get involved, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
Financial Report and Governance
Bilel Hachicha, the treasurer, presented the financial report, covering the period from 2023 to the first few months of 2026. The organization's revenue increased from 63,000 to 111,000 dinars, with sponsoring growing from 39,000 to 69,000 dinars. Expenses rose slightly, from 77,000 to 86,000 dinars, with liquidities evolving from 217,000 to 239,000 dinars. The CJD has also made significant progress in governance, with a project led by Tarek Ben Salem and Zied Hafsi.
Amin Chouaieb: A New President with a Clear Vision
After the adoption of the two reports and a video showcasing the CJD's evolution, new president Amin Chouaieb outlined his vision: "Our country is full of talent, and you, CJD members, innovate, resist, and fight against reality. With you, I believe that the CJD is founded on four values: development, impact, ethics, and connection. This means we will no longer wait for decisions from above and will be ambassadors of ethical and responsible entrepreneurship."
Priorities and Promises
Chouaieb's priority is to break the ice between young entrepreneurs and large companies. He promises rigor, listening, and hard work in the face of Tunisia's challenging economic situation. He invites young leaders to come to him with their problems and ideas, acknowledging the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, which has always stood by the CJD.
A Legacy for the New Team
In an interview with Managers, outgoing president Imed Karoui reflected on his legacy: "I leave behind a movement full of good will, a solid network, engaged young leaders eager for action, and a network of interconnected partners." When asked about the most challenging aspect of his mandate, Karoui replied: "Without a doubt, the most difficult part was to bring about change. I know there is a lot of good will from the government, leaders, and institutions, but I also know that driving change takes time, especially in terms of digitalization, due to the slow evolution of mentalities."
