Artificial Intelligence: A Strategic Lever for Businesses

Artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative AI, is no longer just a technological trend. It has become a strategic lever for companies and decision-makers. Its applications are multiplying in many sectors, but its adoption remains gradual, conditioned by a fine understanding of operational, human, and ethical issues.

IA for Insurance: From Generative AI to Business Transformation

In this context, the CJD Tunis Horizon organized the event "IA for Insurance: From Generative AI to Business Transformation," which brought together over 300 participants to discuss the impact of AI in the insurance sector. Experts and leaders, including Firas Ben Hassen (Allianz), Chouaieb Nemri (Google), and Skander Naija (EY), explored three main axes: value creation, governance, and large-scale integration of AI solutions.

AI: A Driver of Business Transformation

The insurance sector is particularly concerned with AI due to the richness of data generated daily and the complexity of its processes, especially in claims management. Nouha Younes, founding president of CJD Tunis Horizon and CEO of Prev-ex Africa, notes: "AI is not limited to improving operational performance. It transforms the professions themselves." Current technologies allow for the automation of repetitive tasks, rapid analysis of vast amounts of data, and pre-filling, classification, or prioritization of files, while reducing errors and processing times.

Concrete Applications of AI

AI also opens the way to concrete applications such as personalization of services, optimization of processes, and fine understanding of customer needs through the analysis of behavioral and historical data. "These innovations do not exclude humans, who remain essential for validating decisions and controlling results," insists Nouha Younes.

According to a sectoral study by McKinsey, the use of AI chatbots in insurance can reduce up to 30% of operational costs by automating repetitive tasks and limiting the use of human support for basic requests. The challenge is therefore twofold: to seize the opportunities offered by AI while anticipating the challenges related to its adoption.

Progressive and Framed Adoption

The event on AI is part of a broader effort by CJD Tunis Horizon, which has been exploring the opportunities and impacts of AI in different sectors for over two years. The goal is to prepare professionals to integrate these technologies in a conscious and structured manner, while raising awareness of the changes related to professions and internal processes.

Innovation and Sustainability: The Example of Water

Among the flagship initiatives of 2025, CJD Tunis Horizon organized "No Water No Us," the first African talk on sustainable water management, in collaboration with an NGO. Four Tunisian students even undertook a 17-month bike tour around the world to promote access to drinking water and support the installation of treatment equipment in disadvantaged areas. Starting from New Zealand, the project involved partnerships with local governments in each country crossed. This initiative highlights a local reality: "Tunisia is one of the countries most exposed to drought in the next five years, making awareness and action on water essential," she declares.

Diplomacy and International Leadership

2025 was also marked by the internationalization of the network's actions. The first dialogue between young Tunisian leaders and the Tunisia Young Leaders Dialogue (TYLD) took place at the Tunisian Embassy in New Delhi. This meeting allowed for the creation of links with young Indian leaders, exchange on entrepreneurship and innovation, and mobilization of the Tunisian Ministry of Industry in a framework of bilateral cooperation.

Outlook for 2026

For 2026, CJD Tunis Horizon is projecting itself on several axes: strengthening the link with students, extending the use of AI to other strategic sectors (health, energy, logistics, agriculture...), continuing awareness-raising around water, implementing training programs for its members, and organizing new diplomatic missions. The year 2026 is expected to be a stage of consolidation, transmission, and expansion of impact, with a clear ambition: to undertake differently, act collectively, and build projects with high social and environmental impact.
