Forsa-Street 2024: Unlocking Professional Opportunities for Tunisian Youth

October 26-27, 2024, at the Tunis City of Culture

The fifth edition of Forsa-Street, an event dedicated to promoting professional opportunities for Tunisian youth, is taking place on October 26-27, 2024, at the Tunis City of Culture. Organized by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) as part of its ZME project (Tunisian-German Center for Migration and Development) in collaboration with the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, this initiative brings together young people, counselors, and representatives from various public and international institutions. Together, they work to open up new perspectives for Tunisian youth seeking professional guidance.

The event, which started today and will continue tomorrow, is being held at the iconic Tunis City of Culture, transformed for the occasion into an immersive journey: a giant labyrinth composed of 40 panels (80 sides), illustrating the various professional paths available to young people. This symbolic journey offers participants an exploration of the services and opportunities for professional orientation in Tunisia, contributing to a concrete commitment to developing the skills and employment of young people.

One of the highlights of this edition is the intervention of Elisabeth Wolbers, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, who emphasized the importance of exchanges between Germany and Tunisia in the field of vocational training and professional integration. She recalled Germany's commitment to building bridges between the two countries, while stressing the importance of orientation for those who aspire to study or work abroad. "Seeking training or employment in another country is not easy," she specified, while saluting the role of German institutions present, such as the GIZ, the Goethe Institute, and the DAAD, which provide year-round support to prepare young Tunisians for international opportunities.

Wolbers also highlighted the fruitful cooperation with Tunisian partners, including the Ministries of Employment, Youth, and Sports, ANETI, and ATFP, recalling the importance of this collaboration to prepare young Tunisians to actively contribute to the development of their country, even after gaining experience abroad. This cooperation aims not only at the personal and professional development of young people but also at the development of Tunisia, by valuing the skills acquired abroad and strengthening ties with the diaspora.

In conclusion, Wolbers expressed her wishes for success to the young participants and for the continuation of this Tunisian-German cooperation. She saluted the commitment of the organizers and participants to make Forsa-Street an essential annual meeting for young people seeking orientation and training. The weekend promises to be a crucial step for many young people, offering them a better understanding of the options available for their professional future, both in Tunisia and abroad.
