OpenAI Unlocks Image Generation Feature for Free ChatGPT Users

In a message posted on its X account, OpenAI announced that the image creation feature in ChatGPT will now be accessible to users of the free version, with a limit of two image generations per day.

Although the use of the image generator remains highly limited, it offers users a glimpse into the features available in the paid version. This approach was previously implemented by ChatGPT during the launch of the GPT-4 language model, which made certain previously paid features, such as image and PDF document analysis, available for free, but with restrictions.

To generate an image with ChatGPT, simply describe the desired visual in the prompt bar. You can also suggest a specific graphic style or color palette to adopt. However, after generating a second image, a message will appear: "You've reached your image creation limit. Upgrade to ChatGPT Plus or try again tomorrow."

It's worth noting that ChatGPT integrated DALL-E technology into its interface in October 2023 via GPT-4, which was initially only accessible to ChatGPT Plus subscribers.
