Annual Brand Finance Ranking: Chanel Overtakes Louis Vuitton as Most Valuable French Luxury Brand
The annual Brand Finance ranking of the world's 500 most powerful brands has been released.
This year, Chanel has emerged as the most valuable French luxury brand, surpassing Louis Vuitton. With a valuation of nearly $38 billion, Chanel has jumped from 73rd to 46th place, while Louis Vuitton ranks 55th with a valuation of $33 billion.
Notably, Hermès has entered the Top 100, climbing to 98th place with a valuation approaching $20 billion. This marks a significant progression for the brand, which held the 117th position in 2024.
Among other luxury players, Dior ranks 121st and becomes the 7th strongest brand in the world, with a "Brand Strength" score of 93.5/100 and an AAA+ rating. Rolex, on the rise, has gained several dozen places to reach 108th rank, thanks to a valuation of $18.7 billion. Cartier, Ferrari, and Guerlain have also made progress, while Gucci, facing difficulties, has fallen to 204th place, far from its 129th rank in 2024.
With a total valuation of the 500 brands reaching $9.5 trillion (+10% compared to 2024), the luxury sector confirms its weight in the global economy. Chanel, leading the French luxury houses, embodies this resilience and ability to reinvent itself.
