Jetstar Asia to Cease Operations by July 31, 2025

Low-cost carrier Jetstar Asia announced its definitive closure, slated for July 31, 2025, citing rising costs and intense regional competition. The announcement was made today, June 11, on its social media networks.

Based in Singapore, Jetstar Asia explained that this decision stems from several unsustainable economic factors, including the continuous increase in supplier fees, airport taxes, and aviation costs, coupled with excess capacity and increased competition.

Until the closure date, the airline will operate a progressive reduced schedule. Affected customers will be directly contacted by the airline to receive a full refund or an alternative flight if possible.

Vouchers with a balance can also be exchanged for a monetary refund, and Club Jetstar members can apply for a refund from August onwards.

Note that this closure does not affect other Jetstar group subsidiaries, namely Jetstar Airways, which operates international flights between Australia and Southeast Asia, nor Jetstar Japan.
