Ministry of Environment Extends Deadline for National Innovation Competitions to Combat Plastic Pollution

The Ministry of Environment has announced the extension of the deadline for submitting applications for national innovation competitions dedicated to combating plastic pollution. Tunisian startups now have until August 10, 2025, to submit their projects.

The call is addressed to young Tunisian companies developing innovative solutions in three key areas:

  • Reducing and substituting single-use plastic
  • Recycling and valorization within a circular economy framework
  • Technologies for tracking and controlling plastic pollution

This initiative is led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Environment and with the support of the Government of the People's Republic of China.

Selected projects will benefit from financial support, personalized guidance, and opportunities for international networking. The goal is to support ideas that can contribute to sustainable waste management while promoting green entrepreneurship.

Applications can be submitted online through specific forms for each theme, available on the Ministry of Environment's platforms. Project holders are invited to apply without delay.
