French Startup Mistral AI Launches Conversational Agent Le Chat on App Store and Google Play Store
Mistral AI, a French startup, has launched its own conversational agent, Le Chat, with a dedicated application now available on the App Store and Google Play Store. This application marks a significant milestone in the company's journey, transitioning from a scientific team to a team capable of developing concrete products. Arthur Mensch, CEO and co-founder of Mistral AI, expressed his satisfaction with this development, highlighting the company's evolution towards creating products for a broad audience.
Le Chat, available in web version since February 2024, is a direct competitor to ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude. This chatbot is powered by Mistral AI's language models, a startup now valued at $6 billion. In addition to classic text generation and response capabilities, Le Chat features advanced functionalities such as web search, image and PDF file analysis, and visual generation thanks to a partnership with Black Forest Labs. These features are now accessible directly through the mobile application, which also retains the main characteristics of its previous versions.
The new mobile application also integrates an innovative feature, Flash Answers, which enables the chatbot to reason and respond faster than its competitors, with a processing capacity of up to 1,000 words per second. This feature showcases the performance of Mistral AI's models, offering a more fluid and reactive response. To use the application, users must create an account, and the minimalist interface allows for quick onboarding. Users can interact with Le Chat to generate text, images, perform searches, or upload files for more in-depth analysis.
