Belgium Visa & Administrative Fees Increase for Tunisian Applicants in 2026

Starting September 1, 2026, the return Visa D will become more expensive for affected applicants. The fee will rise from €180 to €335 (approximately 1,172.5 Tunisian Dinars), according to the official rate table published by the Belgian Embassy in Tunisia.

However, this increase is not the only change announced. Since July 1, the fee for the long-stay Visa (D) has already increased from €180 to €250 (875 TND). This new rate applies primarily to applications related to work and studies. The same fee also applies to Visa D applications processed by Belgium on behalf of Luxembourg.

Short-Stay Visas Remain Unchanged

For travelers heading to Belgium for short stays, there is no change. The Schengen Visa (Type A or C) remains at €90 for adults (315 TND). Additionally, the fee stays at €45 for children aged 6 to 12, while children under 6 remain exempt. Under certain visa facilitation agreements, the fee is reduced to €35.

Broader Administrative Fee Increases

The changes extend beyond visas. Starting August 1, 2026, the cost of document legalization will rise from €20 to €25. Document verification, when subject to reimbursable fees, will increase from €50 to €100. The Annex 32 (commonly used for financial guarantee declarations) will also be adjusted to €25.

Further administrative documents will be affected from September 1:

Miscellaneous certificates: €20 → €25
Certified translations: €60 → €75
Certified true copies: €20 → €25
Civil status or nationality records: €10 → €50

The new fee schedule also introduces increases for more specialized documents:

Navigation-related acts: €100 → €115
Notarial acts: €100 → €150
Nationality inquiries: Previously free, will now cost €350 starting September 1.

Temporary Passport Fees Already Updated

Changes for temporary passports have already taken effect. Since July 1, a one-year valid temporary passport costs €100, up from €50. For applications processed outside regular opening hours, the fee has risen to €280 since August 1.
