Tunisian Solidarity Bank Unveils Measures to Support Small Farmers
The Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS Bank) has announced a series of measures to support small farmers for the 2025-2026 campaign, during the National Cereal Day held on September 18, 2025, at the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia. The event was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, as well as the National Agricultural Bank (BNA).
Key Announcements
Among the main announcements, the BTS Bank has decided to increase the financial envelope allocated to agricultural credits, from 24 million dinars to 30 million dinars, with 5 million dinars to be mobilized through private operators. The ceiling for seasonal credits granted directly by the bank will also be raised from 60,000 to 100,000 dinars, without requiring real guarantees or personal contributions.
Enhanced Financing for Microcredit Associations
Microcredit associations will see their financing capacity strengthened, with an increase in the loan ceiling from 5,000 to 10,000 dinars. The bank has also abolished the age limit previously set at 65, allowing older farmers to benefit from financing.
New Partnerships and Expanded Financing
As part of this new orientation, the BTS Bank has announced the signing of agreements with five private operators in governorates where it does not yet have partners, as well as the opening of financing in other regions with a particular focus on irrigated crops.
First Internal Credit Review Session
On the same day, the bank held its first internal credit review session at its headquarters, during which approximately 450 files were approved for a total amount of around 6.5 million dinars.
