Minister of Equipment and Housing Unveils Online Portal for Administrative Services

Yesterday, June 13, 2024, the Minister of Equipment and Housing, Sarra ZaĆ¢frani Zenzri, presented the online portal for administrative services, a key step in the digitalization of the Tunisian administration and the online provision of services by the Ministry of Equipment and Housing.

16 Administrative Services Now Online

The portal offers 16 administrative services, including one that allows construction and public works companies to obtain permits online. This service aims to simplify procedures for users, eliminating the need to physically visit the ministry to provide required information. It will also enable the monitoring of human, material, and financial capacities of permit holders.

Boosting the Construction Sector

The construction sector, which generates around 520,000 jobs, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), will greatly benefit from this online service. As the second-largest sector in terms of export potential, according to a 2022 study by the Ministry of Economy and the World Bank, this digitalization effort is expected to have a significant impact on the sector's growth.

Accelerating the Digital Transition

Minister ZaĆ¢frani Zenzri emphasized the importance of accelerating the online deployment of this service for users, in coordination with sector professionals. She also stressed the need to organize information and awareness campaigns to encourage professionals to adopt this service, which is part of the national strategy for digitalizing administrative services. This effort supports the state's digital transition, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in public projects, and establishing a modern and effective administration that serves Tunisians and the administration.

Dematerialization of Administrative Procedures

The dematerialization of administrative procedures is intended to be a supplementary solution, not a substitute for traditional channels such as counters, paper mail, or phone calls.
