Boriana Siméonova Appointed as New Bulgarian Ambassador to Tunisia
Boriana Siméonova is officially the new ambassador of Bulgaria to Tunisia. On February 17, 2026, she presented a copy of her credentials to Mohamed Ali Nafti, the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a ceremony at the ministry. The timing is perfect, as the two countries are celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations, which were established in 1956 after Tunisia's independence.
A Partnership to Boost
The minister praised the strong friendship between Tunis and Sofia, and advocated for taking the relationship to the next level: resuming high-level visits, reviving bilateral meetings such as the 3rd session of political consultations or the 15th Joint Economic Commission. The idea is to boost trade, exchanges in technology, tourism, culture, higher education, youth, and sports. This also includes a nod to the Tunisian stadiums built in the 1960s and 1970s thanks to this historical cooperation.
