The prices of fruits commercialized at the Bir El Kassa wholesale market saw an increase in April 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, according to data published on Thursday by the National Observatory of Agriculture (Onagri), part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources, and Fisheries.

Fruit Prices

  • Dates: +5% (from 6603 millimes in April 2024 to 6926 millimes in April 2025)
  • Strawberries: +12% (reaching 4129 millimes)
  • Lemons: +36% (reaching 1000 millimes)
  • Apples: +64% (reaching 3692 millimes)
  • Oranges (all varieties): +53% to +134% (prices ranging from 1561 millimes to 3323 millimes)

Vegetable Prices

  • Most vegetables saw a price increase, including:
    • Artichokes: +74% (reaching 2290 millimes)
    • Potatoes: +71% (reaching 1741 millimes)
    • Zucchini: +67% (reaching 2149 millimes)
    • Fennel: +59% (reaching 1125 millimes)
    • Onions: +41% (reaching 1480 millimes)
  • However, some vegetables saw their prices decrease, including:
    • Tomatoes: -29% (reaching 1406 millimes)

Seafood Prices

  • Seafood prices generally increased, except for:
