Prior to his diplomatic appointment, Bill Bazzi served as the Mayor of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, since 2021, after presiding over the city council from 2018 to 2021. A veteran of the Marine Corps, he has over 21 years of active service, during which he led intelligence operations and coordinated joint missions as part of the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA).
