Tataouine's First Tourist Zone Officially Approved
The first tourist zone in the governorate of Tataouine has been officially approved, announced Abderraouf Slouma, regional delegate of the Southern Tourism Land Agency. Located in the Biyach region, approximately 4 kilometers from the city center, this zone will span 8 hectares.
This project, in the making for nearly 20 years, plans to build a hotel unit, two lots dedicated to entertainment, as well as a multifunctional and versatile lot. It marks a turning point for the region's tourist development, known for its unique products and spaces.
However, according to Slouma, Tataouine needs at least 10,000 tourist beds to fully exploit its potential. With this in mind, proposals have been put forward for other tourist zones, notably in Aïn Kordi, in the Remada delegation, covering 130 hectares, and in the Dakouk River valley, in southern Tataouine, with a first phase of 10 hectares.
