Central Bank of Tunisia Publishes Note on Italian Credit Line for Private Sector SMEs
The Central Bank of Tunisia published a note to banks yesterday, outlining the conditions and modalities for using the Italian credit line worth €55 million in favor of private sector SMEs in Tunisia. This credit line is part of the financial convention signed on April 17, 2024, between the Central Bank of Tunisia and "Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A", in accordance with the agreement protocol between the two governments.
Objectives of the Credit Line
The credit line aims to facilitate access to financing for private sector SMEs in Tunisia, under favorable conditions, to promote investments and support growth.
Eligible Uses of the Credit Line
The credit line is available to SMEs to finance the acquisition of new productive equipment and related services of Italian or Tunisian origin, as well as financial restructuring operations, including working capital, debt rescheduling, and participatory loans exclusively for capital increases.
Advantageous Financial Conditions
The credit line offers SMEs advantageous financial conditions, including flexible repayment terms and an annual interest rate capped at 2.5% for credits granted in Euros and 6.5% for those granted in Tunisian dinars.
