Private Agricultural Investments in Tunisia Plummet by 28.4% in 2024
Private agricultural investments in Tunisia have experienced a significant decline of 28.4% during the first nine months of 2024, totaling 225.5 million Tunisian dinars (Mtnd), according to the latest bulletin from the Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Investments (Apia).
Compared to the 2018-2022 period, this value represents a decrease of 51.9%.
The investments are broken down as follows:
- 140 Mtnd for agriculture
- 49.9 Mtnd for services
- 22.7 Mtnd for fishing
- 6.6 Mtnd for aquaculture
- 6.1 Mtnd for primary transformation
Regarding initiatives for young people, approved investments amount to 29.2 Mtnd, while ten projects for community companies have received the green light for a total of 2.8 Mtnd.
Subsidies granted represent 31.8% of the total investment volume. Among these, 41% are intended for the acquisition of agricultural equipment.
In terms of photovoltaic equipment, approved investments stand at 7.1 Mtnd.
Regional development projects represent 8.9 Mtnd.
Twenty land loans, worth 2.9 Mtnd, have also been validated to integrate 151 hectares of land into the economy.
