Latest Monetary and Financial Indicators Released by the Central Bank of Tunisia
The latest monetary and financial indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) as of February 10, 2025, reveal a mixed evolution of the country's main financial aggregates.
The BCT's net foreign exchange assets stand at 23,314.7 million dinars (Mtnd), recording a decrease of 2,581.9 Mtnd compared to the same period in 2024. In terms of import coverage, these reserves allow for 102 days of coverage, down from 118 days a year earlier, marking a 16-day decline.
On the other hand, cumulative tourism receipts show a significant improvement, reaching 546.8 Mtnd as of January 31, 2025, compared to 513.5 Mtnd a year earlier. Similarly, cumulative cash labor income reaches 681.4 Mtnd, recording an increase of 45.2 Mtnd compared to 2024.
In contrast, the cumulative external debt service explodes, reaching 4,498.9 Mtnd, compared to only 1,198.6 Mtnd a year earlier, representing an increase of 3,300.3 Mtnd.
