Introduction to Aymen Zghibi

Aymen Zghibi, a Tunisian engineer from the Kef region, has made Germany his hub for innovation. After completing his high school diploma, he settled in Germany and specialized in applied computer engineering for the automotive industry. His career led him to work with major players in the automotive industry, such as Bosch, Mercedes, Volkswagen, and Marquardt, where he accumulated over 14 years of experience in demanding and multicultural environments.

From Expertise to Entrepreneurship

"From the beginning, I wanted to launch my own startup. I started as a developer, then moved up the ranks to become a team leader... This experience allowed me to understand the complete product development process, from analyzing needs to creating a reliable and functional product on the market, including managing the organization and technical teams," he explains.

Entrepreneurial Journey

With this background, Aymen Zghibi ventured into entrepreneurship and acquired Akkurad GmbH, a company specializing in the manufacture and distribution of light vehicles, including velomobiles and electric propulsion systems. "Initially, we started by offering our expertise to the company, then we developed our own products," he explains. Akkurad also offers to convert almost any bicycle into an electric bicycle, advising clients on the choice of motor, battery, and equipment best suited to their journeys.

Expansion to Tunisia

In 2019, he extended his project to Tunisia with Akkurad Tunisie, based in Tunis, by forming a team of Tunisian and German engineers. "By combining German know-how with Tunisian ingenuity, we were able to design innovative electric vehicles with multiple batteries and interchangeable motors according to needs," he specifies.

Complete Control of the Product

The company controls the entire technical process: mechanical design, software, hardware, and artificial intelligence. In simpler terms, "We do everything in-house, from prototypes to software, electronic systems... Partners and manufacturers then buy the product to manufacture it. For example, in Tunisia, some parts are important to import, but assembly, chassis, and, in our case, integrated electronics are entirely done by our team. This platform gives us total flexibility to design exactly what we want, like our scooter equipped with two motors, front and rear," he explains.

SURUS Project

Always seeking innovation, he launched SURUS in 2025, a project targeting Africa (including Tunisia, Uganda, Senegal, and Egypt). The company offers a diversified range of two, three, and four-wheeled vehicles, integrating software and artificial intelligence.

The Entrepreneur's Vision

For Aymen Zghibi, succeeding in Germany is not limited to mastering the language. "It is essential to go through an incubation phase, fully integrate, and demonstrate your skills. If you prove your expertise from the start, the rest follows naturally," he emphasizes. He also stresses the importance of market research, incubation, and financing. "A startup must combine technical skills and soft skills to be patient, launch correctly, and succeed," he adds.

Full Commitment to Projects

Since 2023, he has dedicated himself 100% to his projects. "We conduct studies, tests, homologation, and then partners can produce and develop their own manufacturing," he explains. Through Akkurad and SURUS, Aymen Zghibi embodies the potential of the Tunisian diaspora to combine innovation, expertise, and international influence, while creating technological bridges between Europe and Africa.
