Tunisia's Foreign Exchange Reserves Increase Slightly

According to provisional data from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) as of August 23, 2024, net foreign exchange assets stood at 25,176.7 million Tunisian dinars (Mtnd), equivalent to 114 days of imports.

Compared to the previous day, August 22, reserves increased by 149.7 Mtnd, representing an additional day of imports.

However, looking at the data over a one-year period, the situation is less favorable. As of August 23, 2023, net foreign exchange assets were higher, reaching 26,139.7 Mtnd. This represents a decrease of 963 Mtnd over the year, although the number of import days has increased from 113 to 114, indicating more prudent management of reserves.
