Tunisian Travel Agencies and Labor Union Reach Salary Agreement for 2024 and 2025
The Tunisian Federation of Travel Agencies (FTAV) and the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) have concluded an agreement regarding salary increases for 2024 and 2025. During a meeting held on September 24, 2024, the two parties signed a protocol agreement providing for a salary revaluation.
According to this agreement, an 8% increase in the basic salary, as well as transportation and attendance allowances, will be applied starting from May 1, 2024. For 2025, an 8.5% increase is planned, also effective from May 1.
This strategic exchange, as part of salary negotiations, aimed to find a balanced compromise between employees' demands and the economic realities of the travel sector, which faces several challenges. The signing of this agreement marks a breakthrough for sector employees, while taking into account the constraints faced by travel companies.
Both organizations hope that this agreement will ensure social stability in a sector heavily affected by recent economic crises.
