Bank Strike Rumors Denied
Reports of a strike in the banking sector at the end of December 2025 have been formally denied. The General Federation of Banks, Financial Institutions, and Insurance Companies clarified that no action is planned for December 29, 30, and 31.
However, this postponement does not mean a waiver of demands. As emphasized by Ahmed Jaziri, Secretary-General of the General Federation of Banks, Financial Institutions, and Insurance Companies, affiliated with the UGTT, the protest movements seeking salary increases and improved working conditions remain on the agenda. These demands will be reconsidered after the start of the new administrative year.
