Workshop on Creating and Evaluating Innovation Packages for Scaling Up Held in Tunis

A workshop on creating and evaluating innovation packages for scaling up was organized on April 30, 2024, in Tunis, as part of the collaboration between the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) and the ProSol project.

This event takes place in the context of the ProSol project entering its final phase, with a focus on sustainability and scaling up the achievements and innovations developed by partners for soil protection and rehabilitation.

The workshop allowed ProSol partners to develop "innovation packages" by focusing on the main good practices promoted, particularly through the Innovation Packaging Scaling Readiness (IPSR) approach. It also provided an opportunity to evaluate the maturity of innovations for their concrete implementation on the ground.

In the near future, institutional partners of the ProSol project, such as the National Institute of Field Crops (INGC), the Office of Livestock and Pastures (OEP), the Technical Center for Organic Agriculture (CTAB), and the Olive Tree Institute (IO), will be called upon to follow up and implement the innovations, ensuring they are based on solid evidence.

Note that the "Soil Protection and Rehabilitation in Tunisia (ProSol)" project is mandated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by GIZ Tunisia in partnership with the General Directorate of Agricultural Land Development and Conservation under the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries.
