Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) Releases Q2 2026 Activity Indicators

The Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) has unveiled its activity indicators for the second quarter of 2026. As of June 30, 2026, the bank's net banking product (PNB) stood at 179.989 MDT, compared to 171.329 MDT during the same period in 2025, representing a notable increase of 5.1%. However, for the second quarter, the PNB declined by 4.3% to 76.108 MDT.

Banking Activity Products

The bank's banking activity products decreased to 355.068 MDT, compared to 397.532 MDT a year earlier. Interest income significantly decreased by 17.5% to 249.567 MDT. Similarly, commission-based products declined by 2.0% to 39.492 MDT. Only portfolio income increased, totaling 66.009 MDT. At the same time, there was a more significant reduction in banking operating expenses, down 22.6% to 175.079 MDT.

Balance Sheet Indicators

The balance sheet indicators show an adjustment in volumes, which the bank seems to be managing voluntarily to prioritize solidity and profitability. The outstanding customer loans stood at 4,856.034 MDT at the end of June 2026, down 8.6% compared to June 2025. This decline may reflect a more rigorous selection of files, aiming to contain risk and improve portfolio quality.

Customer Deposits

Customer deposits stood at 6,613.415 MDT, slightly decreasing over the year. However, this contraction is offset by an improvement in the liability structure. Sight deposits, a free resource, increased by 1.9% to 2,265.641 MDT. Savings deposits, considered stable, recorded a 5.5% increase, reaching 1,934.019 MDT. This evolution indicates that the bank is strengthening its core resources, the most stable and least sensitive to liquidity tensions.

Overall Strategy

Overall, ATB is seeking to evolve towards a more efficient model. By controlling its expenses and optimizing its balance sheet structure, the bank demonstrates its ability to generate profitable growth, even in an environment of declining volumes. This strategy, focused on quality and profitability, seems to offer a solid development trajectory for the bank.
