Arab Tunisian Bank Strengthens Commitment to Sustainable Development through ADAPT Program
The Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development by actively participating in the ADAPT program (Support for Sustainable Development in the Agriculture and Artisanal Fisheries Sector in Tunisia). By accompanying private operators in the sustainable agriculture, artisanal fisheries, and aquaculture sectors, as well as associated value chains, ATB helps them develop their projects while promoting sustainable and responsible practices.
Financed by the European Union and implemented by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the ADAPT program has a budget of €70 million and aims to support private investments by actors (family farms, SMEs, SMSAs, GDAs, and GIEs) operating in Tunisia in these key sectors. The program enables the financing of, among other things, the acquisition of new equipment and materials, necessary raw materials for production, construction and development works, technical studies, and various services related to project implementation. The objective is to improve the economic, social, and environmental performance of private operators engaged in value chains based on ecological and sustainable production systems.
Through this marked involvement, ATB reaffirms its position as a strategic partner for sustainable development in a vital sector for Tunisia's future. Aware of the challenges posed by climate change, the depletion of natural resources, and the fragility of the food balance, ATB has integrated green finance as a priority in its financing processes. By facilitating access to credit for eligible operators under the ADAPT program, ATB encourages the transition to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
In parallel, training and capacity-building programs will be offered to the bank's teams to better support clients and respond to their specific needs. ATB clients wishing to benefit from this financial support and ADAPT contribution can submit their applications through the dedicated platform.
With the ADAPT program, ATB reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the service of more resilient agriculture and fisheries.
