Joint Arab-Turkish Chamber and Commodity Exchanges to Boost Cooperation

Participants at the 6th joint meeting of Arab and Turkish chambers and the economic forum, held in the Turkish city of Izmir on July 7, 2025, called for the establishment of a joint Arab-Turkish chamber and commodity exchanges to strengthen cooperation between the two parties.

This joint Arab-Turkish chamber is expected to establish a clear roadmap for common cooperation in the coming years.

They also emphasized the importance of establishing commodity exchanges between Turkey and the Arab world, "as the establishment of commodity exchanges can contribute to strengthening trade between Turkey and the Arab world and increasing commercial exchanges," according to a statement by the UTICA, made public on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by delegations from 14 Arab countries, as well as high-level Turkish officials from the private sector, trade exchanges, Turkish chambers of commerce, and industry chambers, and the heads and members of the boards of directors of Arab and Turkish chambers, led by:

  • Samir Majoul, President of the Arab Chambers Union
  • Rifat Hisarcioglu, President of the Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges Union
  • Khaled Hanafy, Secretary-General of the Arab Chambers Union
  • Fayed Mustafa, Palestinian Ambassador and Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps in Turkey
  • Abdel Hamid Hamza, Ambassador and Head of the Arab League Mission in Turkey
  • Several Arab ambassadors accredited to Turkey

This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening economic cooperation between the Arab world and Turkey.
